"Eagle Time"
REVERB BROTHERS
5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. | Free | All ages

It's Eagle Time! Celebrate the onset of your weekend with The Reverb Brothers, whose washboard swamp rock has made Friday evenings an institution at the White Eagle.

The Reverb Brothers play a sort of swamp rock that encompasses country, blues, jug band, R&B and old time jazz. Their sound is characterized by exuberance, high energy and fun with a lot of vocal and instrumental interplay. The material is a combination of obscure covers from the American songbook as well as original songs.

The Reverb Brothers started playing Eagle Time (Fridays 5:30-7:30pm) at The White Eagle about two years ago. After many line-up changes they have found a permanent roster that really works. Doug Marx sings and plays acoustic guitar, Claes Almroth sings and plays keyboards and harp, Allan Lemley plays electric guitar and sings back up, Dave "Gutbucket" Duffield plays Cornet, Morgan Geer plays drums and Keith Richard McCarthy plays electric and upright bass.

The members of the band are all veterans of the Portland roots music scene, and most are members of other working Portland bands.
