
Friday, July 13, 2012. 1 pm - 3 pm. Learn about the history and cultural importance of Native American basket making, with a specific emphasis on the Winnebago (now Ho-Chunk) and their basket traditions. Discuss how baskets were used, what materials were used in their construction and the techniques used to craft them. Each young guest will then get the chance to create their very own basket to take home. Recommended for children ages 9 to 15. Reservations strongly suggested. $5.00 per person; $3 for members.
