Start Point Address / Driving Directions:
101 Panther Hollow Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. After arriving in the Pittsburgh area, take Route I-376. Take exit 5. Follow signs after exit ramp to Greenfield. Go about .8 miles to the intersection with traffic light at the Mystik and Citgo Gas Stations and make a right. Go across the Greenfield Bridge. Bear left at the end of the bridge to the traffic light at Panther Hollow Road (Hobart St. goes to the right; Panther Hollow Rd goes to the left) This is about .6 miles. Make a left. Bear Right toward the Phipps Conservatory (Large white building). After going across bridge with the Panthers on it, the Visitor's Center Cafe and Shop is on the right in a small red brick building. Look for a parking space - meters only take quarters. Event Description: Allegheny County - Visitors Center is open from 10 - 6, seven days a week. Closed on all major holidays. 412-687-1800. The 10K trail takes you through the Carnegie Mellon University and Shadyside and Squirrel Hill areas of Pittsburgh. It goes by the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens (fee is required to enter the Conservatory and Gardens). It is mostly on sidewalks with one steep hill. The 15K also includes the Oakland area and the University of Pittsburgh campus including the historic Catherdral of Learning. This part of the trail is entirely on sidewalks and relatively flat. Both distances have several places to stop and shop, use restrooms and college areas to explore if desired. The 5K trail takes you to the University of Pittsburgh campus and the Oakland area.
