14 Mile Loop From New Florence Gamelands

We'll meet at Duff Park at 8:00 AM or the parking lot in the New Florence Gamelands at about 9:15 or 9:30. We'll leave some cars there and shuttle to the northern-most trailhead of the LHHT (Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail) and hike south on the trail about 10 miles. There we'll turn west towards the parking lot and hike down. The last 4 miles is down-hill with some panoramic views of the valley. This is not a beginners hike! This trail is rocky and there are very steep climbs at the beginning. It's a shuttle hike so there's no easy way out for someone who runs out of energy. We'll hike at a minimum 2.5 mile pace but I'll go as fast as the rest of the group can go. We'll be back to the cars between 3:30 and 5:30. We'll be passing Clems on the way home. I can't go by it without some of their world-class barbecue. Steve Simpson sent me some pictures he took in the Laurels a couple days ago. Maybe we'll be lucky enough to see some sights like what I've posted. The name of the album they're in is "14-Mile Shuttle from New Florence Gamelands".
