More than 100 entries, including large helium balloons, floats, military vehicles & marching bands will highlight this years VA Veterans Parade.
Veterans of the Iraq & Afghanistan wars will serve as Veterans Grand Marshals for the parade, which has as its theme, Home of the Free, Because of the Brave
In the lineup will be helium balloons featuring Rosie the Riveter, Uncle Sam, the Bald Eagle, Va Nurse & US Airways airplane Dooey & the Do Crew. There also will be a special military fly over.
The parade will begin at 11 am at the Carl T. Hayden Va Medical Center, head north on 7th Street, west on Camelback Rd & north on Central Ave., ending at the North Phoenix Baptist Church at Bethany Home Rd.
