Description
"THEM" is a landmark movie about giant radiation-mutated ants that gets better with age and boast remarkable Academy Award nominated special effects. Starring James Whitmore, James Arness, and Edmund Gwenn. It also is a prime example of the paranoia in America at the time with the threat of communism and the atomic bomb. The ants represent a foreign communist country invading the U.S. and their giant mutant size is the result of atomic radiation on the enviorment. This film paved the way for many imitations that were a big part of the sci-fi explosion of the 1950's. A classic.
