Spur Cross/Cave Creek day hike

We will meet at the Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area - parking lot - at 8am Saturday morning (there is a $3/person entry fee). We will hike approx 2 miles thru Spur Cross till we get to the southern trailhead for the Cave Creek Trail. We will explore the southern part of this trail for about 2 - 3 miles before we return the same way we came for a total distance of about 9 - 10 miles. We will be paralleling Cave Creek (a perennial stream) most of the way thru a Riparian area. There will be very little elevation change and unless there are recent rains, the trail should be easy to walk and we should be able to keep dry at the stream crossings. There is plenty of water along the way but it will need to be treated. Spur Cross Ranch is in the north end of the town of Cave Creek, contact me for directions and/or car pool info. On the way back we can stop at one of the local eateries.
