Palladium Printing from Digital Cameras (Philadelphia Session with Project Basho)

In this three-day introductory workshop students will learn the basics of palladium printing from digital negatives. Palladium printing, also known as platinum or platinum-palladium printing, is a hand-coating process which requires patience and a consideration for details. Though it is time consuming, the basics of the process are rather simple, and the rewards for pulling a good print out of a tray are tremendous. This hybrid workshop combines the best of both worlds, allowing you to achieve prints with the amazing tonal range of the palladium process from digitally captured images. Students will begin by working on the computer to create digital negatives custom tailored to this process before moving to the wet darkroom to make fine black and white prints.
