UNIVERSOUL CIRCUS IS BACK IN TOWN

After a two year absence, the UniverSoul Circus is back in Philly. UniverSoul Circus is using elephants from Jorge Barreda, who has four African elephants - Lou, Dolly, Makia, and Lovey. All four were stolen from the wild as babies. Makia (31 years old) and Lovey (25 years old) were purchased from the Miami Metro Zoo in 1993 and have performed in the circus ever since. Lou and Dolly were purchased from a private dealer when they were just three years and became circus performers at that young age. They are now 24 years old. Although it isn't shown on their website, UniverSoul has also had tigers in the show this year and is expected to bring them to Philadelphia as well. The lives of animals in circuses consist of never-ending confinement, bullhooks and whips, screaming crowds and loud music. These animals aren't volunteers, they never get a day off or vacation. Please join us to help raise awareness among the public and end the cruel "tradition" of animals in the circus. DEMO TIME - 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm (showtime is 3:30 pm, but patrons often arrive late to this circus). PARKING: There is plenty of free parking in Fairmount Park near the circus location.
