Description
For twenty years, thousands of Scouts have participated in our areas Good Turn. This year, after the hard work of the Scouting for Food campaign
is complete, we have the opportunity to FLOOD the parade with the
presence of Scouting. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for
great public relations exposure and a fun experience for the boys in
your Troops and Packs.
Our spot in the parade is right before Santa! This activity is for all Cub Scouts, Boys Scouts, Venturers, and Explorers. All
Scouts must be in FULL UNIFORM! (after all you’ll be on TV!). Leaders
may march with the boys as well IF THEY ARE ALSO IN FULL UNIFORM.

Long sleeve shirt, (please wear long underwear under the Scout Uniform because jackets cannot be worn). or
Short Sleeve Shirt with a sweatshirt under it.
Boy Scouts- red sweatshirt
Cub Scouts- blue sweatshirt
Venturers- green sweatshirt
Long Scout Pants.
Hiking type boots (NO SNEAKERS OF ANY COLOR)
A Pair of warm GLOVES

All
those who are signed up will report to Scout Personnel no later than
7:00 a.m., at 20th Street and John F. Kennedy (JFK) Boulevard,
Thursday, November 27, 2008. The parade route is approximately 1.8
miles. Scouts should be finished with their part in the parade no later
than 12:00 noon. The parade route will conclude at the Art Museum.
There will be a tent called "Winter Wonderland"; we suggest parents
meet the cub participants at this location. Unit flags are not necessary as we will march as one family- “The Boy Scouts of America”!Directly
following the parade everyone is invited to stop by the Marks Scouting
Resource Center (“Philly office”- 22nd and Winter Streets) for a hot
dog lunch sponsored by the Cradle of Liberty’s fantastic OA Lodge-
Unami One.
We will assemble the signups and register as a unit with colbsa.org.
