The renowned architectural and interior design firm DAS transformed the two-story, 8,000-square foot space which formerly housed Little Pete’s. DAS, known for their work in creating such exciting restaurants as Le Bec Fin, Rae and Morimoto, aimed to create an environment that would be attractive to a sophisticated and discerning clientele. Plush oversized banquettes (also known as pearls), mirrored pendant light fixtures, modern finishes, color changing LED lighting theatrics and a richness of fabrics and textures create a sexy and chic environment. The space was designed to allow the flexibility to accommodate diners, lounge patrons for bottle service, VIPs needing privacy, casual visitors at three bars and private events simultaneously. Two DJ booths and two separate sound systems allow for quiet dining downstairs with an energetic lounge scene upstairs. David Ashen, of New York’s D-Ash Design, known for his work on Capitale, XL, Spider Club and Avalon, collaborated with DAS on the project. Upstairs, a glass enclosed VIP area ensure utmost service for lounge patrons. A rotating series of the best of local and nationally known DJ’s will help to ensure Pearl patrons experience remain at the cutting edge of Philadelphia’s nightlife.Pearl is located at 1904 Chestnut Street.
