This class will focus on ways actors and directors can work together more effectively. Rather than teach actors and directors in isolation, this class will look closely at the ways actors and directors can encourage, support and challenge each other to do better work, and conversely, the ways in which we can sometimes become obstacles to that work. We are looking for committed, advanced students and acting professionals with a willingness to examine their own motives, choices and processes in this mystery we call collaboration. Students must be willing to rehearse in a "laboratory setting", being observed by Blanka, Ben and the rest of the class while they work. We want people interested in focused work, ready to rehearse scenes outside of class, and prepared to participate in in-depth conversations about the working process of actors and directors.
