Ani DiFranco
Only 5' 2" in height, Ani DiFranco has worked hard to prove that she's big in stature. Born in Buffalo, New York, Ani was singing and playing guitar long before most of us break out of the doldrums of Kidz Bop and Bubblegum Pop to finally realize what good music actually is. As she grew older, she began touring, developing both her signature style of performance and her extremely loyal fan base. Rather than waiting for some A&R bigwig with an even bigger agenda to sign her, Ani simply created her own label, Righteous Babe Records, which has released 18 of her own studio albums as well as 8 of her wildly popular Official Bootleg Ser...More about The Electric Factory
The Electric Factory
The Electric Factory Philadelphia hails itself as one of the leading indoor music venues in the nation. The original Electric Factory was established in 1968 and was converted from an old tire warehouse. After it was torn down in 1973, Electric Factory Philadelphia was rebuilt in the mid-1990's and stands at its current site on N. 7th Street (ironically an actual run-down electric factory). The Electric Factory's schedule proves itself to be one of Philadelphia's most popular venues for live musical performances. Jam bands and indie-rock artists seem to be a popular trend on the Electric Factory's schedule, but it is much more than that. Electric Factory Philadelphia plays no favorites as it hosts top entertainment names from various musical genres. In addition, the Electric Factory schedule is also open to private parties and corporate functions.
With over 40 years of business to back them up and an array of event capabilities, it is no surprise that Electric Factory is one of Philadelphia's most popular entertainment venues.
