Wishpig

With a unique sound taking influences from everything from The Beatles and Tamla/Motown to popular science fiction and experimental music all stewed at a medium temperature with a generous sprinkling of Cream style blues licks and RATM guitar sounds. Wishpig are gathering a large fan base in their native Wigan and are famed for their strange approach to live shows, handing out free stuff at gigs (these range from cereal, guitar necks, t-shirts, pig masks, and a soundtrack of West Side Story), songs disappearing into and out of synthesized white noise thanks to mad technician and guitarist Will Woodhouse-Banks, sound bytes form the original series of Star Trek and frontman Keith Maiden's tendency to change the names of songs mid gig. All this madness held together by the flawless rhythm section of Jon Cornthwaite (bass) and Arnold Jefferson-Foster, throwing out solid danceable beats and pounding bass lines.
