Bio
"The key is respecting the music," says keyboardist Chris Plante. "We do, and it puts us with the fans. We're one of them. That's what it's all about."
The voice of this energetic young quartet is marked by carefully crafted songs with poignant, thought-provoking lyrics, combined with easy access music that hooks the listener.
Hailing from Massachusetts' North Shore, The Brew formed in 2002 when longtime friends Dave Drouin (guitars/vocals) and Kelly Kane (drums) decided to formalize their musical careers. Tightening their bond, they teamed up with brothers Chris Plante (keyboards/vocals) and Joe Plante (bass/vocals) and forged a musical relationship rooted in a connection only seen in the foundation of family and friendship. The four musicians clicked instantly and it was obvious from the start that they possessed that indefinable "IT" that is rare and often overlooked, but sensed in the music, and always searched for by fans.
Winning Relix Magazine's "Jam-off," voted Best Opening Act of 2006 by Bruce Hornsby fan site Bruuuce.com, and earning the respect of promoters across the Northeast are some of the reason behind The Brew’s building momentum.
The maturity displayed in the musicianship of The Brew excites eager audiences, and gives one the impression that The Brew will be a household name in time. On any given night fans are left feeling that they are part of something special.
The Brew appeals to rock, funk, jam, jazz, reggae, and pop enthusiasts alike, and it has been said that their music summons the spirits of artists such as Peter Gabriel, Queen, and The Police.
The Brew has recently spent time in Virginia working on a new studio project with famed producer/musician Bobby Read. The album is scheduled for a spring 2008 release.
