Bio
He may have begun his music career busking, but Stu Larsen has flourished into a brilliant performer who now shares the stage with the likes of James Morrison and the Whitlams.
At 26, Stu Larsen has been performing as a solo musician, on stages flared by such luminaries, for over two years. And, as an acoustic singer/songwriter, he has just released his debut EP, Already Late. Contrary to the title however, his CD launch could not have come at a better time.
While boosting his performances and slipping his name into the spines of many listener's CD racks, the album has resonated in many ears to the point where he has been currently chiselled in at #7 on the TRAA Indie charts. Already Late marks a seasonal change for Stu. Following a tumultuous eighteen-month dark period that began when some family affairs brought him crashing down at the start of 2005, the album is the first step on a new path for Stu.
Taking little time to rest however, Stu has already begun work on his next recording, writing songs that are another step ahead of his last. Although Stu is still yet to insert his name into the national market, his songs have by now established a stable, growing local fan-base in Toowoomba. This fan-base flocks to regular community events to see the artist play, including the Australian Gospel Music Festival and the Royal Show where Stu performed a song he was asked to produce to commemorate a Toowoomba icon.
The key contributor to why Stu continues to be asked to perform at these events, as well as weddings and social functions, is his unbelievably unique voice. Additionally, Stu has just returned from the highly-recognised Parachute Festival, an annual event held in New Zealand in January each year, as well as being sought after by other artists who hope to augment their own performances with his presence.
