The world's most popular, beloved, and only green ogre is taking his adventures to the stage with Shrek the Musical. Shrek is joined by all his friends from The Kingdom of Far, Far Away, including Fiona, Donkey, Gingy, Pinocchio, and the not-so-friendly Lord Farquaad. This former Broadway and current West End musical is full of hit songs, lively dance numbers, and eye popping special effects that will have your whole family on the edge of their seats. Shrek the Musical is finishing up tour dates on its US tour, leaving precious little time to see this musical spectacular.

The musical follows angry ogre Shrek as he travels to the Kingdom of Duloc to ask the short-tempered Lord Farquaad to return his swamp (and solitude) after banished fairy-tale characters begin showing up. With his new, unwanted friend Donkey, Shrek travels (at Farquaad's command) to rescue Princess Fiona from her tower prison. Princess Fiona, who has always imagined being rescued by a handsome prince, is forcibly rescued by Shrek and the trio head back to Duloc. Little do Shrek and Donkey realize that Fiona is cursed to become an ogre at night until she receives "true love's kiss." Shrek will need to break out of his grumpy shell and work together with some new friends to win the love of the ogre of his dreams.

Shrek the Musical is currently playing on London's West End at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane and will be in Madrid at the Nuevo Apolo Theatre beginning on September 21. An Australian production will open in 2012, and the US national tour is finishing its final tour date in Los Angeles on July 31.
