Born in NYC and raised in North Carolina, Sean Hayes music evokes the stylized indie-rock of the big city infused with traditional American folk. Hayes began playing in a Irish music band, Boys of Bluehill, before migrating to San Francisco in 1992. Since releasing his first album, Alabama Chicken, in 2003, Hayes has achieved commercial success in the arena of music licensing. His single, "3 A.M." was featured on the TV show, Kyle XY, and his single "A Thousand Tiny Pieces" was featured on Brothers & Sisters.
Hayes has also found time to participate in high-profile collaborations. He was asked to contribute to the Natalie Portman sponsored anti-poverty album, Big Change: Songs for Finca and he recorded the duet, "Ballantines", for Aimee Mann's Smilers album. More recently, he released, Run Wolves Run, and has been on the road to promote the disc ever since.
