Sarana Verlin

2009 Detroit Music Award winning performer Sarana VerLin has worked with many people, including grammy award winners Don Was and Steve King (Eminem, Romantics), and producer Ben Grosse (Marilyn Manson, Debby Harry). Early in her career, VerLin won three years in a row at the Detroit Metro Times Music Awards (now Detroit Music Awards), was in 2000 was listed in the Detroit Metro Times Music Hall of Fame alongside prestigious musicians such as Aretha Franklin and Iggy Pop. She was one of the original members of the supergroup Dark Carnival, a rotating group of superstars...most notably the late Ron Asheton. For a few years she exclusively played the renaissance festival circuit, playing an acoustic blend of celtic, rock and folk music. Her current Euro-folk style is a blend of Celtic and Americana roots as she accompanies herself on guitar and fiddle.
