The feeling you got with “YES WE CAN” continues if you go see “ PRAY THE DEVIL BACK TO HELL” at the Lammle Music Hall in Beverly Hills – just this week. You want to give yourself a gift? You want to feel in your guts all the power that is in you? If you choose to see only one film this year – THIS IS THE ONE! History is being changed right NOW. I never got so many goose bumps from watching a film and having the honor to shake the hand of a WOMAN that is as brave as Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King and should be the HEAD of ONU to conduct ALL PEACE ACTIONS in the world. Mark this name: LEIMAH. She knows it. She did it. In Africa, in a country sunk in DEEP CHAOS. Liberia’s president, a complete EGO-IDIOT, put weapons in the hands of children. What? Yes. Little boys took off with older men with a grin on their faces and performed atrocities, because someone incited them to kill, to rape, to terrorize. The film does not show the horrors, but a few women describe some scenes that are hard to forget. “ You wake up with fear. You feel fear 24 hours a day.” And then you get numb to fear”. No food, no water, lost bullets, bombs, kids amputated, girls being raped. Leimah had enough. So she went to the other Christian women, and they went to the Muslim women, and they left behind everything, and went to sit under the sun day after day holding peace signs and singing. First 50, them 100, then 2.500. And while they walked other women left behind their stuff and joined. And the Ego-Idiot was forced to listen to the demands they wrote down, and agreed to go to the Peace talks in Ghana. So a small group of 200 took a bus and went to sit outside the hotel holding their signs just to be sure, because the “ Devil smiles to you and it could send someone to kill you in minutes. So you keep your eyes open and you pray”. And the Peace talks of course never ended. Three long weeks go by and no conclusion. The women saw that the men were actually having fun, eating well, in their suits, in a fancy place, smiling a lot, as in a vacation! So they moved their asses to the doors of the Conference, and nobody could get out. I won’t tell what they did next, go experience on your own and revive on your skin the determination that brought back democracy, the election of a first woman president in all Africa, and the overwhelming victory that belongs to all of us. Because our whole human race was born in Africa, and if African women can fix the chaos, YES WE CAN TOO in any other country in the world. But when the film was over, and after Leimah had a standing ovation, it opened for Q&A and a thin tall black girl raises her hand and she says she is from Liberia. She is emotional, and she says she does not know how she got into that theater, and she knew nothing about that film, but she tells that her family left when she was small, and she had a friend, David, who joined the child-army and she heard for a while that he got dragged into the drug and violence but then she never heard about him anymore, and maybe by now he is dead, she is sure he is dead, as every night she has horrible dreams with David, and she can’t stand it anymore. She says she wants go back, she wants to do something. Leimah looks at her with determination and tells us all that there is lots to do. For one year of war, it takes 7 years of repair. With 7 years of war and destruction, there is lots to do. So, first thing: Go see the film and invite a friend. They need the theater full this week. Give yourself this HIGH after Obama’s victory. Because there’s a long way to rebuild America and you need the CERTAINTY that we will win. Second, check Leimah’s website www.wipsen-africa.org Because victory is not a one-shot thing – as Leimah says – You have to PUSH so that promises, papers, words become REALITY. www.PraytheDevilBacktoHell.com Laemmle Music Hall – 9036 Wilshire Blvd. BH (310)274-6869 www.laemmle.com

Newflash: WE WON!! Pray The Devil Back To Hell took the prize for best documentary feature last night at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival Awards. Our director Gini Reticker took the stage with a weeping Abigail Disney, the film's producer, to accept the art award Liza Minnelli, created by Timothy White. As part of the award, PTDBTH also received $25,000 cash to continue funding this amazing film. The Jury had this to say about PTDBTH: “In a relentless pursuit of peace, the women of Liberia show us how community, motherly love, and perseverance can change the fate of a society. Pray the Devil Back to Hell is a reminder that we have the power to say 'Enough!' to the atrocities of our world.” We're absolutely blown away by the award and the success of PTDBTH. As Gini said last night, "I can't tell you how much this means to the women of Liberia and women looking for peace all over the world." Highlights from the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival awards show will air Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on WNBC. The Cadillac Award for audience choice will also be announced at that time. We've added extra screenings on Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, May 4 so don't miss this inspiring documentary!

Pray the Devil Back to Hell is the extraordinary story of a small band of Liberian women who – armed only with white T-shirts and the courage of their convictions - came together in the midst of a bloody civil war, took on the warlords, and brought peace to their shattered country.
