Alt-rock kings, My Chemical Romance, have been recording and playing their post-punk-pop sound to packed shows since 2001. My Chemical Romance tour dates are currently scheduled throughout spring and summer 2011, so don't miss out on the chance to catch their rockin' theatrical show at a tour stop near you.
My Chemical Romance started out playing local venues in the New York metro area in 2001, releasing their music through downloads on their MySpace page. The band mixes the look of the Cure with the versatility of Queen and the sound of Black Flag to create their own unique musical signature and style. Their debut album, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, was released through indie label Eyeball Records in 2002. The album failed to make a dent on the charts; however, My Chemical Romance concerts were generating buzz and soon they managed to book some shows with Avenged Sevenfold. This was the kick-start they needed, and it wasn't long before My Chemical Romance were signed a major label recording contract with Reprise Records.
Following their mini-tour, the band returned to the studio to record their sophomore set, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. This album catapulted the band to rockstar status when it dropped in 2004. The album spawned the hits "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" and "Helena," which were both certified gold in the US. The band is also noteworthy for the edgy and dramatic music videos from the album which received heavy rotation on MTV networks. In support of the album, the My Chemical Romance concert schedule featured the band as the headliners of the "Taste of Chaos" 2005 world tour and as the opening act for Green Day's "American Idiot" Tour. My Chemical Romance also booked tour dates on Warped Tour 2005 and a co-headlining gig with Alkaline Trio.
After extensive touring, the band hit the studio in 2006 to record the follow up, entitled The Black Parade, which was released that year in April. The album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum within a year of its release. The album featured the title track which remains their only #1 single on the US Alt Rock singles survey, as well as the hits, "Famous Last Word" and "Teenagers." In support of the album, the My Chemical Romance concert schedule consisted of 133 tour dates booked around the world during 2006-2007. "The Black Parade World Tour" enlisted Rise Against and Muse as supporting acts and played to packed venues the world over.
My Chemical Romance took a brief hiatus to recover from such a hectic concert schedule. After two years, the guys reunited to record their fourth disc, which took the band towards a different musical direction. Known for their artsy and theatrical style, this album was more garage rock oriented and less operatic, focusing more on the bands lyrics than their videos. The album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, was released in November, 2010 and debuted at #8 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. It contains the hit singles, "Na Na Na," and their current hit, "Sing." In support, My Chemical Romance announced the "World Contamination Tour," which features The Blackout and Neon Trees as opening acts. My Chemical Romance tour dates are currently available right here, so don't miss out on their visually emotional, lyrically charged, and energetic live show: make sure to use Eventful as your source for up-to-date My Chemical Romance tour dates and concert schedule news.
