    Bio
Misdelphia was formed in the beginning April 2006 by singer Jordan Wark and bass player Brian Zanini, a project solely created to bring something different out of the two young musicians' conjoining themselves from previous local San Diego involvements. Their goal was to create something completely different from what they had originally evolved from, and become more personal with what they desired in music. Starting out as an acoustic act, the two-man project began with the creation of song "In Royalty" as their first production in July. In early August 2006, with passionate goals of expansion in mind, Misdelphia recruited Kevin Childs to assist the acoustic guitar resonance along with Brian who recorded guitar and piano tracks at the time. Throughout the end of summer and even into early fall, the three wrote and recorded song after song experiencing different sounds and styles that could ultimately feed what Misdelphia was trying to become. Towards the end of 2006, Misdelphia welcomed Derek Hudson, a drummer from Northern CA and a fresh San Diegan, to join the developing project at drums and percussion. With Derek's talent and mindset matching the group perfectly, the band felt his addition was the next step to fulfill any plans to expand. The beginning of 2007 sparked the much anticipated launch of the full band writing experience. This milestone also brought forth the opportunity for another guitar player. Guitarist Kevin quickly presented his buddy Ori Rendler to fill the spot. Both Kevin and Ori shared a partnership in previous projects before to the start of Misdelphia and had been playing together for years. Ori fit the puzzle just right and the Misdelphia mold was created. After 6 or 7 months of recording, writing, sampling, and practicing, Misdelphia was invited to open for a national touring act at Soma in San Diego. This event has now sparked a streak of shows for the brand new band, and also a debut E.P. to be released at the end of summer 2007!!

    Behind the Name:

The name Misdelphia was created by Vocalist Jordan Wark. He recalls being on tour with his former band and witnessing storage trains traveling across the Midwestern states. On the side of the train was a series of graffiti and art pieces with the words; "Mrs. Delphia" included in a group the clustered graffiti. Jordan recorded the saying and later on read back to stumble upon the creation of his next projects name.
