    Bio
Justin Emord was born in Van Nuys, CA on September 26, 1987. His interest in music began when he was nine years old with the piano. As his talent was identified, he expanded his musical ability and picked up his first guitar at age 12. Guitar lessons began as soon as he picked up each instrument.

Although Justin started lessons at a younger age, he was not focused or interested at that time. Just a few short years later; Justin began to perform in the school band (including jazz and concert band). He started with piano lessons to gain a better understanding of not only piano but also musical history. His talents were identified by his instructors, through private lessons and continued with school instructors. His instructors knew that Justin possessed a talent that was just emerging and that aptitude was present with each instrument he picked up.

He was a member of the school band from fourth grade through his senior year in high school. This included concert band where Justin played piano and bass and in jazz band he played piano and guitar and continued this rigorous training through his senior year. Three short years after he started with piano, he purchased his first guitar, a Jackson Randy Rhoads and continues to play this guitar today. In the summer of 2005, Justin began to take his lead guitar lessons seriously and began to emerge as very talented musician who’s journey had just begun.

During his years in school band, he served as president twice and also received the prestigious John Philip Sousa Award during each year of presidency. He musical influences on a short list include Jon Bon Jovi, Don Henley, and Randy Rhoads just to name a few. During his talent shows and battle of the band competitions you could find Justin performing his favorites: Living on a Prayer, Boys of Summer and Dee.

Justin thrives on learning everything there is to know about an instrument, from beginning basics to general maintenance and even repairs. He is a hands-on musician who leaves no stone unturned! He is his own best critic as he strives to be the best he can be and immerses himself in every level of musical studies. This type of passion has not gone unnoticed by people in the music industry as he was nominated for the best male guitarist in the pop/glam/alternative genres and best instrumental rock group in the nation wide All Access awards and took home the award for best male guitarist. He also seems to be a force to be reckoned in his hometown of LA making it to Music Connection’s Hot 100 list for being one of the best unsigned acts of the year.

Justin has garnered endorsements from notables in the industry: Minarik Guitars, Glendale, CA; Brazen Dynasty Guitars, Glendora, CA; and Mono M80 Guitar Cases, San Rafael, CA. He is also in rotation on internet radio’s maximumthreshold.net as well as uncensored net noise and the he-man hater’s show. Every musician’s dream is to embark on a successful musical career. Undoubtedly, Justin will continue to demonstrate his talents and is sure to make significant impact in the guitar world for many years to come and achieve his musical career goals! Reviews: "Justin has every ingredient to be the next guitar stylist for his generation. I look forward to seeing his continued success in the music industry, and hope to be a part of this "future shocker" in wherever his muse decides to take him. " -M.E. Minarik "Justin has the skills, determination and pure energy to become an influential force in the guitar community. Keep an eye on this guy... " -Rick SPG Guitars "I feel that Justin is the next generation of guitar player he has some interesting chops and a good sense of melody. He’s definitely someone to look out for in the future... “Ronny North

“Justin, a young talented guitar player delivers delightful melody through his powerful signature riff.” Steve-Brazen Guitars

“Justin is the modern version of your 80’s hair bands, laying down thick rhythms and melodic riffs with unending passion and energy. Keep an eye on Justin as his music career keeps growing.” Tony-Tregan Guitars

"Listening to Justin Emord's work my first impression was one of a deep emotional impact... there's something nostalgic in his work, in the sensitive handling of textures, that somehow tells me that he's not afraid of being himself when he expresses his music. But beyond the nostalgia, a more contemporary vocabulary is also employed, and quite tastefully I might add. It's authentic, unpretentious music that I would recommend not only to Rock fans, but to anyone that appreciates art in general. In a music scene overpopulated by clones and imitators, Justin's authenticity emerges as a refreshing event. When a young George Gershwin went to the great composer and orchestrator, Maurice Ravel and asked the master to teach him how to orchestrate just like him, Ravel replied: "Why do you want to be a second class Ravel, when you can be a first class Gershwin?" It seems to me that Justin is well on his way to become a first class Emord."- Antonio Esteban.

"There's a sense of fun that I get from Justin Emord's guitar playing. His style seems to have its roots in the 1980's Metal Pop but there's some hints at modern styles as well. I wouldn't be surprised if Justin becomes one of the iconic guitar players of the next decade - especially if there's any Glam or Pop/Metal renewal. He's got the looks, the axe, and style that draws people in - and want to join in with the fun." -- Cole Coleman, Minarik artist, guitarist.

"Justin Emord is known in the music community as an "up and comer" and we at Maximum Threshold believe this also. Justin brings a soothing sound to his guitar playing and has much potential for really developing into a guitarist that will influence a younger generation. Keep your eye on him and agree with us. Songs: "Epic" has been one of our favorite and most requested song on our show and we do not hesitate to play this song. We have also used portions of this song in commercials on our show. "Better Days" has been a newer song that we find ourselves listening to when we are not even on the air. This song has a well developed progression and some catchy riffs that leave you wondering where he is going with it and that is a good thing. His music is unpredictable and keeps you on your toes. The only setback to Justin's music is the recording. When he gets into a top studio expect his own magic to flourish and watch out!" Dom, Maximumthreshold.net

"80's metal is on its way back with a vengeance, thanks to teenage visionary Justin Emord. To anyone who thought grunge killed glam, think again. Straight from LA, Justin brings the triple threat - hot licks, high hair, and heart. Thank goodness somebody realizes that the epic music we banged our heads to during our awkward years WAS actually the best musical decade ever. I'm confident that if given a chance, Justin will be the next Joey Allen, Steve Clark or Saul Hudson. LONG LIVE GLAM!" Daniel Kushner President/Designer MONO [www.monocase.com] 2007~hp media & pr
