American stand-up comedian and actor, John Pinette is the king of food comedy. In John’s own words, “Just remember, if you're standing in line at the buffet - grab and move - don't ask questions, or GET OUT OF THE LINE!!!” The rubber-faced funny man has been touring the comedy club circuit since the 80s, and shows no sign of stopping.
Born in Boston in 1964, Pinette started a career in accounting until his friends convinced him to pursue a career in comedy. After the seriously unserious career change, Pinette hasn’t looked back. He has experienced relative success in film and television, with roles in movies such as Duets, Dear God and Junior. In 1998 he nabbed a role as a carjack victim on the final episode of Seinfeld. The same year Pinette released his first album, which contained a recording of his performance in Vernon Hills, Illinois. Pinette was named Stand-Up Comedian of the Year by the American Comedy Awards in 1999 and received a Gemini Award nomination for his widely televised performance at the Montreal Comedy Festival in 2000.
After touring in 2004 as a replacement Edna Turnblad in Hairspray, Pinette continued to star in the Broadway show through 2006. Meanwhile, Pinette’s first DVD, I Say Nay Nay was released in 2005 with its sequel, I’m Starvin’, coming out just a year later. In July of 2011, John Pinette: Still Hungry premiered on Comedy Central, which showcased material from his 2010 tour.
2012 brings a brand new set of tour dates for John Pinette, hitting cities in the Midwest, East Coast and Canada. Want John Pinette to visit your hometown? First, ensure that there is a nearby seafood, Chinese, or other delicious buffet, and then demand him to let him know where his “biggest” fans are!
