Many artists move to Nashville with stars in their eyes, a bucketful of talent, but little or no practical knowledge about the brutally competitive world of today’s show business and Radio. The hardworking John Karl, on the other hand, already had years of real-world entertainment experience before he even arrived in Nashville, fittingly on Labor Day, 2002. Since moving to Nashville John Karl has been working with top Nashville attorney Rod Phelps, (Garth Brooks, Chris Cagle and Randy Boudreaux) as well as Music Central Management's Michael Kinnam (Lynard Skynard, and Bering Straights). “Music has always been my life’s No. 1,” John Karl said. “Other artists sit back and wait for everything that’s gonna happen to them. For me, it’s not just the music but the entertainment value and seeing people enjoy the work I put into it.” He already is a proven singer and songwriter, opening shows for Trick Pony, Eric Heatherly, Ricochet, Sawyer Brown, Luke Byant, Mark Wills, Air Supply, Craig Morgan, Darryl Worley, Richard Marx and other Row acts at venues up to 8,000 seats and recently acquired the title of “House Artist” at the world famous Wildhorse Saloon in downtown music city USA. But beyond that, Karl has had a number one hit on the original mp3.com with “There Goes The Neighborhood”, the title song off John’s latest album “Redneck Rich Hillbilly Happy” has been aired on Nashville’s radio station WKDF 103.3 for the “Locals Only” show and GAC’s TV’s “Next GAC Star”. He has been awarded two top ten chart awards on Ourstage.com with his songs “That’s What I Believe” and ”Girl Like You”. His song “Small Town” was placed in a Hollywood movie “American Reunion” and he has had a hit on Christian Country Radio in the summer of 2003 with “Just Love Her”. John has toured over 200 shows per year for the last 3 years with his tour “The Rockin’ Redneck Tour” playing venues from Wisconsin to the Florida Keys and Nevada to New York, but he make his home as the house artist at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville, TN. With this kind of success you would have to believe that John Karl is an artist on the rise and well worth listening to!
