Bio
The second set of material, The Winter EP, was released in December 2004, causing whispers and rumors to churn in the undercurrent of melodies that could stab straight into the heart. The new set of songs was a piano-based full band sound that was a large leap from the quiet acoustic-based Promises. The songs on The Winter EP ranged from quiet Coldplay-esque songs like The Whitest Light, to more bombastic tunes like All the Sad Songs. Jason gained a new level of respect in the music community after performing all of the instruments, producing, and recording the EP.
In July 2005, Jason's full-time band The Professional Americans relocated to Austin, TX to absorb the opportunities that the area presents. But despite promising label interest, The Professional Americans began to suffer from a lack of solidarity and within a year, the band imploded upon itself. The consequence: the massive national heat wave of 2006 (the correlation between this event and the break-up of the band has yet to be confirmed) and Jets Under Fire burst into a super-heated new universe--a full-blown creative burst that will soon be turning the heads of Austin, TX. Featuring drummer Corbin Peterson (formally of The Professional Americans), bass player Todd Meador (formally of Cord) and guitarist Stu Smith (Robbie Seay Band, Smith Band), Jets Under Fire explores the more arduous aspects of humanity and provides fresh looks at tried-and-true subjects such as love and the nature of wisdom.
Ranging from tender to anthemic, Jets Under Fire sends musical vibes into the air similar to Keane, Travis, and the Verve, while charming influence from bands such as the Smashing Pumpkins, the Beatles, and the Beach Boys. Unflinchingly introspective; penetratingly beautiful. Jets Under Fire is building a fan base built upon quality songwriting and showmanship--and good old-fashioned hard work.
