Bio
In their first year of performing, Io & I Gomma Gommas played more than 30 gigs, including their shows as a support band for well-known Italian groups such as Skiantos, Moravagine, Persiana Jones, and Cheap Wine.
In Febraury 2004, Io e I Gomma Gommas released their self-produced debut EP, curiously titled "...And I Have the Legs that Are Doing James James"; (Skantinato Records). The album contains six inventive cover versions of all-time classics from the Italian beat years ("Scende la pioggia", "Tintarella di luna", "Stasera mi butto", "Pietre", "Luglio", and "Tremendo"), as well as a promotional video clip for "Stasera mi butto".
In September 2004 Io & I Gomma Gommas started working to their 15-song first full-length album "honkey-donkey!" (Ammonia Records / Edel), which was released on 15th April 2005. The album was mixed and mastered under the direction of the world's number one punk producer Ryan Greene, who works with Fat Wreck Chords and bands such as NoFx, Lagwagon, Good Riddance, and - of course - Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. In November 2004 Io e I Gomma Gommas flew to Scottsdale, Arizona, to mix the tracks of the new album and became the first Italian band ever to work with the guru of the international melodic punk scene.
