Heaven and Hell tour dates for 2009

The "Live Evil" record at the time of its release was almost like a stillborn album in the sense that the band performing on this LP had already broken up. But, that didn't stop fans, like myself, from falling in love with LP and just being blown away by the incredible performance the guys gave for this live record. The power of this record I personally feel, rivals such greats as KISS - "Alive I" and Nugent's "Double Live Gonzo" and illustrates just how powerful this line-up was, and how against insurmountable odds Ronnie James Dio was able to reestablish Sabbath as The Gods of Metal even in the absence of their original singer, Ozzy Osbourne. Songs like "Children of the Sea" know no rivals, it stands up there with "Victim of Changes" and "The Lady Wore Black" any day of the week. The songwriting of this "the Dio period" of Sabbath picked up where the first six "classic" Sabbath Lps left off (no disrespect to last two, but admittedly weren't their best work, although lots of great songs). Anyway, this summer the Metal Gods smile on us metal fans who can't forget this powerhouse of energy and originality, and have all but given up on the glimmering hope of the never released, and most likely lost, "Live Evil" video, which has been rumored to exist but has yet to see the light of day. This summer Dio and Sabbath give us a gift in Metal. The reunion of one of the heaviest and creative bands to grace rock and Heavy Metal, Black Sabbath with Dio. I look forward to seeing all you metal fanatics there. This is going to be godly and as my request makes clear I am praying these chaps decide to make Pittsburgh, PA one of the stops along this tour.
