Hey guys! I am Heath Walton. I am from Talladega, Alabama but now I live in Mobile, Alabama. So...this is the bio section so here we go. Music started for me at age 3 when I had to go to these Music Preparatory Classes taught by Mrs. King in Natchez, MS. BTW...I was born in Natchez, Ms and moved to Alabama when I was 8. Anyway, so music started early. Later on I took piano. Taking piano was the equivalent of me getting my thumb crushed by the head of a hammer. Now, I appreciate. Then--oh my. I got bored alot in Junior High...so i picked up a guitar. I was awful for quite a while...and then through hours of playing I got better. Me and a friend of mine, Jon Andrew Castleberry (of Oddly Normal) decided to start playing together. We formed Icthus...lame name sorry...there were worse ones. We decided to change that name to Oddly Normal and form a band. The band went through alot of member changes and what not. We went on to play at Atlanta Fest at Stone Mountain Park and placed 2nd in their talent show. Then I felt God moving me. I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life. Me and Jon Andrew started playing when I was 13. Now, I was 21...and I had to tell him I was leaving. 8 years of playing...not wasted. I had the time of my life with those guys. Now it was on to something new. I am now a worship leader at Liberty Church Eastern Shore Campus in Fairhope, AL. I get to play every sunday which is nice. I always had a solo project on the back burner. It was not until very recently when I played at a coffee house like event at Gov't St. Baptist called "Strung Out," that I officially decided to work on it. So I am preparing to record a new ep called, "destination midtown." Destination Midtown is inspired alot by downtown Mobile. I even mention the Bay Bridge and the Saenger Theatre in my song Bus Driver. When you come from a small town and move to a decent size city...it is easy to be inspired. I even get inspired now when I return to Talladega because of the laziness of a small town. So, this ep is more folksy than I normally do. The songs are about God, love, life, family, Cortney, the things I see around town, Cortney, buses, people, pain, and ofcourse Cortney. If you don't know who Cortney is...just check out my personal myspace. Alot of my songs are about her. I hope you like what I release for destination midtown.
