Heartstring

Heartstring are a five piece rock style band, from the Wirral, North West England; who’s sound is similar to that of ‘Garbage’ and ‘No Doubt’. The band have been performing since 2005 but has had a few line up changes and now consists of Chris Tann (guitar), Al Clark (drums & percussion), Alicia Khoshdel (vocals & keyboard), James Ruane (guitar) and Paddy Higginson (bass). Each of whom brings their own influences to the band to create a brand new, exciting and modern style of contemporary rock. In 2005 Heartstring recorded their first four track EP with the original members Al Clark and Chris Tann, and completed their second five track EP titled ‘One Last Dawn’, in 2006.

Since then, Heartstring have put on many great performances around Liverpool, Manchester, Chester and the Wirral. They have an impressive stage presence and really get the audience involved. They have had a lot of experience performing at various gig venues from clubs such as the Late Room in Manchester to the Cavern and Barfly venues in Liverpool as well as pubs and festival events such as the recent Liverpool Streetwaves events held in Williamson Square, Liverpool and the 60th WWII Anniversary concert held in Coronation Park, Greasby, Wirral.

The band have had various reviews which includes the well known North west music magazine, ‘The Buz’ and a German magazine called ‘Bloom’ (accessed from www.bloom.de). The band have had various plays on radio. They are regularly played on a popular New Jersey radio station called HGRNJ (Home Grown Radio New Jersey) by famous DJ, Sher Delight as well as Chorley Fm’s Flat Iron Show, in Chorley and Rare Fm DJ Matthew Rimmer in London.

After supporting various bands such as ‘The Sugars’ and Alexis Blue, in Liverpool during their UK tours, Hearstring now are getting ready to record a 12 track album due for release around July. The band then plan to spread out and tour in other major cities around the UK.
