Elin's debut album, Lazy Afternoon, released Sept. 5, 2006, placed extremely well on the JazzWeek charts after its release:

On the World Music Chart (where it spent 22 weeks straight), it debuted as the #1 most added album, jumped from #42 to #12 in one week, and then peaked at #6. On the Traditional Jazz Chart, it debuted as the 6th Most Added CD, and on the College Jazz Chart it jumped to #45 its second week, then peaked at #4.

Elin was also featured on PRI's "The World" which airs on NPR and has done numerous jazz radio interviews across the country, most recently on WBGO 88.3FM in NYC. She also just SOLD OUT Jazz at Lincoln Center - Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola on her last night of a 5-day stint following legends Flora Purim & Airto Moreira (July 28, 2007), and has graced other legendary stages such as Joe's Pub, Smoke, Sweet Rhythm (formerly Sweet Basil), The Kitano, etc.

Elin (pronounced ‘Eee-ah-leen’) sings a combination of English, Portuguese, and Spanish on her genre-bending debut, Lazy Afternoon, which received a rave review in Down Beat magazine (January 2007): "Elin delivers a debut that has all the wonder of a magical discovery...[she] draws you in, turning familiar songs into an intimate personal concert" writes Ken Micallef, adding, "Like a Frank Sinatra devotee, she controls the song's tempo and demeanor through her lush phrasing and luxurious delivery, each word flowing like liquid chocolate."

Born and raised in Sweden by Peruvian and Irish parents -- and fluent in five languages -- Elin is the embodiment of multiculturalism. A polished jazz vocalist with a pop sensibility, she was praised by AllMusic as "A Skillful Improviser, a Clever Manipulator of Melody and a Confident Bandleader." Recent press coverage has ranged from Alternative to jazz to mainstream outlets, with interviews completed in both English and Spanish. Miami New Times described her CD as "An Urbane Work That Unfolds with Exotic Jazz and Pop Sensibility" - "Music as Intriguing as Her Background." In a recent rave review on the nationally-syndicated Listen Here Radio Broadcast, respected journalist Neil Tesser said: "her intonation is flawless. You feel safe with what she does because her authority of intonation is so clear." He added that the CD contained "Beautiful and gratifying renditions of familiar tunes."
