Candidate For President in 2008

What does it take to be a good President? Do I have what it takes to be a good leader? I do wonder. But I know, when I look around at the stable of talent in the two major parties, I am not seeing a whole lot of leadership there. What does it take to be a good President? Do I have what it takes to be a good leader? I do wonder. But I know, when I look around at the stable of talent in the two major parties, I am not seeing a whole lot of leadership there. I keep saying to myself, I could do this better, or I have a better way to do that. Maybe my ideas are good, maybe not so good- that is for the voters to decide. I just know that in the last few elections, I spent my time deciding who was the lesser of two evils, not who I felt good about voting for. That, to me, is sad; we are the greatest nation on Earth, but we end up with only two choices to head the country, neither of who excite me at all. Maybe I can do it better, and I can surely provide an effective, alternate choice. So, here I am, putting out some new ideas. Hopefully not the lesser of three evils, but rather an alternative that people like me have been looking for these last few elections.

I am forty-five years old this year. I have been happily married for over fifteen years; to a wonderful woman I have known since I was sixteen. We have been blessed with a wonderful, beautiful daughter Victoria. We have lived in Salt Lake City, Utah for over ten years. I came to Utah as a News Photographer, working for the Fox affiliate in Salt Lake City. While there, I decided to break away from working for others, and decided to open my own art gallery.

I am honored Ken Goldstein has consented to run with me for office. I have known Ken since we met in Junior High in Los Angeles over thirty years ago. Despite our differences, we have remained fast friends for that whole time; Ken was the Best Man at my wedding. When I first conceived this plan, Ken was my first and only choice as a running mate; has he not agreed, I would not have continued. Ken adds a lot of knowledge and breadth to the team. Rather than the traditional choice of a running mate from a different geographical area to appeal to voters from that area, we have chosen a team with alternate viewpoints. Ken and I have a strange ability to argue through issues we disagree on and come to common ground. This has become the basis of our campaign- to be open to many ideas from different points of view and to perform a synthesis to what benefits the most people. Neither left nor right, but what is right.

And that is what we will do: make policy that benefits the greater good. Our advantage- we are not bound to the policies of the left, or the dogma of the right. Often, a mixing of each side is a much better solution. And we can do that.
