    Bio
Born in Stockton, CA Daniel D.was raised in a household surrounded by music. His father was an accomplished musician, playing the guitar, bass, and piano, so it was only natural that he picked up music from his father. But it was in his childhood, at the age of 8 that tradegy struck, when his mother passed away from cancer, an event that he states," Was a life-changing event, to say the least." In response, he leaned on music to help him cope with such a traumatic situation. He started playing the drums for his father's church in Fresno, CA at the age of 10, but became tired of playing music he wasn't necessarily interested in. He started to teach himself to play the piano and continued to write throughout his childhood. Later on he moved to Holland, MI where his father remarried, at this time he found Gospel music at a local church, where he traveled and performed with a gospel group as far as Paris, France: they also released two gospel albums during this time. He states,"Gospel music is the most spiritually uplifting thing I was ever exposed to. The music just reaches to the core of your soul." He credits his Father as his inspiration because he feels "...none of this would be possible without Him." It was also during this time that he felt that he grew as a musician, performer, and singer, because of the constant performances they were engaged in at various places across the midwest. After graduating high school, he moved back to California to pursue his dreams in the music industry. He was featured in his label mate, Tighteyez, album where he co-wrote and produced songs such as "Don't U Cry," and "Baby Girl." Daniel understands that being an asian/american artist has some drawbacks and doubts, but as he simply states, "I just love music and want to share that passion with others: no matter what race, color, or ethnic background...Because music is universal." He lists Boyz II Men, Tevin Campbell, Brian McKnight, Shai, Babyface, Usher, Fred Hammond, Kirk Franklin, Craig David and many other great singers/musicians as his influences. He marks his upcoming album "Genesis," as the beginning of his journey as he has wrote/produced/musically performed practically every song on the upcoming album that has a eloquent mixture of R&B, soul, gospel, Hip-Hop, and pop. He currently is a fulltime student at Sacramento State, so he's trying to balance music, and school at the same time, which is a time consuming task. The album features collaborations with label mates Tighteyez, Dirty, and J-Bien. Stay posted for recent single releases.
