Bio
The bands beginning is a tale of two halves. The first half traces back to the summer of 2000. Vocalist Matt Diehm and guitarist Chris Johansen met while working together in Washington, D.C. Their mutual love of both punk and metal led them to begin writing and collaborating together. Matt moved to Southern California in 2001 to pursue his music career. Chris was not far behind, relocating to Los Angeles in 2003. As soon as Chris arrived he began writing and rehearsing with Matt once again. After they felt their material was ready, they began to hunt for a rhythm section.
The second half of the band started in 2001, when drummer Greg Gerber and bassist Lorenzo Perea found themselves playing together in the band Citizen of the Empire. They enjoyed moderate success releasing an album and touring Southern California. Feeling that Citizen had reached its potential, Greg and Lorenzo began searching for a new and more versatile venture.
In 2005 these two halves became whole. Matt and Chris united with Greg and Lorenzo and quickly developed their self titled E.P. That summer, the band began playing numerous shows in Los Angeles, and swiftly developed a thriving, loyal fan base. Rapidly word spread about By All Means Necessary and the band took their aggressive and dynamic live performances to stages across the state of California. Now BAMN is preparing for their third recorded release and plan to follow it with a nationwide summer tour.
