Brigitte London tour dates for 2009

All songs written and produced by Brigitte London except "You Ask Me To" written by Jennings/Shaver, produced by Richie Albright. Brigitte London is getting ready for the release of her fourth CD, Like a Phoenix. This will be the first of her recordings to be nationally distributed and has already generated significant buzz throughout the musical community. Along with ten originals, London has done a remake of the Waylon Jennings/Billy Jo Shaver song, You Ask Me To. On this remake, original Waylon Jennings members accompany her, and the song was produced by Jennings drummer/producer Richie Albright. The new CD also features members of Willie Nelsons band along with Mike Kennedy who is a drummer for George Strait. This is not the first time London has drawn attention, approval and musical stirrings of players of legendary country performers. Even on her independent projects, featured musicians included Earl Poole Ball (Johnny Cashs producer/pianist for twenty-five years), Redd Volkert (guitar icon for Merle Haggard) as well as Texas star Dale Watson. It seems they gravitate toward London because of her talent, passion and professionalism as well as her unique artistry that combines country and blues in a sound she calls soul country. Her style blends traditional country influences like Jennings and Cash with those of Etta James and Aretha Franklin.

London was born in north central Wisconsin and began singing and writing at the early age of five. By the age of fifteen, she was living on her own and supporting herself though various bands all throughout high school. In 1995, history was made when London released her first independent CD, Cant Steal My Fire, and did a seventy-two county tour of the state of Wisconsin. She relocated to Texas in 1997, where she received critical acclaim of her following two CD releases and her live performances. London also found time to form a Female Songwriters Group that encouraged support amongst female singers and assisted up-and-comers in learning about the music business. This evolved into organizing several live concerts featuring all women performers as well as producing demos for other artists.

After being featured in an array of Texas music magazines, and receiving radio airplay throughout the state, it became clear that London's next step was to go national. After taking a much needed break in 2004, she is preparing to do just that. Negotiations for a distribution deal are in the works.

Londons passion for her music shines through in her new self-produced CD, Like a Phoenix, in which she combines heartfelt sentiments and driving rhythms with a soft sensuality and a direct lyrical approach. She combines traditional country with soul, blues and even flavors of bluegrass. Her ability to transcend musical limits with ease evokes the sense that one day soon she will find her place in music history.
