Breathe Carolina tour dates for 2009

Breathe Carolina is an Electronica[1] band from Denver, Colorado, composed of Kyle Even and David Schmitt. When the band tours, they have live musicians that play with them, one being Joshua Andrew, who has his own project, The Spin Cycle. The live musicians add synth (Luis), keytar and guitar (Josh), sound guy, samples, lights, and the drummer (Eric). They have also been featured in an Electric Valentine song ("The 1st and Last Time" from the Friends With Benefits EP), and a Kill Paradise song ("All For You" from The Effect album).[2] They will also be featured in Jeffree Star's new album, Beauty Killer. Their sound is similar to other electronic bands such as Watchout! Theres Ghosts and The Medic Droid.

Beginnings and Gossip EP (2007)

Breathe Carolina began in 2007 with Denver, Colorado[2] natives Kyle Even and David Schmitt, recording songs on GarageBand for fun. They started out as a MySpace band, getting over 10,000 plays in 2008 and accumulating over nine million plays during 2009.[4] The name Breathe Carolina came from a dream that Schmitt had at age 9[5], about calming down a woman named Carolina.[6] Soon, they were to the point where they realized that this could be their career. Even gave up his job as a photographer[4] to tour with the band full-time. Their first EP, Gossip, was released as an iTunes exclusive on November 26, 2007. It was self-released and has since been removed.

[edit] It's Classy, Not Classic (2008)

Breathe Carolina recorded their first album with GarageBand. They signed with Rise Records before their release of the album. The album introduced a few new songs that were not featured on their Gossip EP. These songs include "The Introduction", "No Vacancy", "Show Me Yours", "Classified", "That's Classy", and "You Wish". "Don't Forget: Lock The Door" was not put on the new album. The album was set to release September 16, 2008. The album was leaked one month before the actual release. They headlined a tour with Every Avenue, BrokeNCYDE, and The Morning Of to promote the album. While on "The Delicious Tour" they announced that they would be making a music video for "Diamonds". Their choice for this song was simple. Most fans would have preferred "Gossip" or "The Birds and The Bees", but the band wanted to release something else, something that doesn't have David doing a whole verse then Kyle doing another whole part. They chose the song because it switches back and forth between the two. The video has cameo appearances made by Melissa Marie and Allison from the Millionaires, Josh White from Umbrella Clothing, and This City Is Burning Records. The band has stated that they would not do any more videos for any song from this album.

[edit] Hello Fascination (2009 - Present)

Breathe Carolina is a featured band in the Fearless Records series "Punk Goes Pop 2". They recorded a cover of Miley Cyrus' hit song "See You Again". The band explains in an interview that they have wanted to do their own version of one of her songs for a while.

A few months after the release of "Punk Goes Pop 2", shortly after they finished the 2009 "Take Action Tour", Breathe Carolina announced that they have signed with Fearless Records and would be in the studio recording their upcoming album "Hello Fascination" with Mike Green. It will be out August 18, 2009. On June 29, 2009, the first song from "Hello Fascination" was released. It is entitled "Welcome To Savannah", which is a featured song on the Fearless Records Summer Sampler 2009.[7] New songs were also played during Vans Warped Tour 2009. These songs include "I.D.G.A.F."[8] and "Hello Fascination"[9]. On July 26, 2009, the second song from "Hello Fascination" was released. It is the title track of the album.
