Bio
He has 3 independent CD album releases that include the titles “Laid Back Cool” 2002, “Direct Sunlight” 2005 and “Wet Heat” 2008. Songs on his albums that have become memorable favorites for his audience are Girl, And Then There’s You (time), I Need You (tenderness) Daybreak, Want You In My Life (party), Direct Sunlight, Trippy Pills, Wish I Was Still With You (reflection), My One Weakness (seductive) and more. In March 2009 Cousins will be releasing new songs every week for a year. These songs will be available as mp3s at his website www.booboocousins.com
Boo Boo Cousins has had the opportunity to play The M.E.A.N.Y. Fest and The Teriyah Festival in 2008. In the past he’s held a residency at The Chocolate Monkey hosting “Boo Boo’s Living Room” showcasing his music as well as artists from around the NYC Tri-State area. Other residencies Mr. Cousins has performed and co-hosted were at Solomon’s Porch & The Five Spot. He’s had the opportunity to accompany on guitar and vocals Ladybug Mecca (Digable Planets), Brian Jackson (Gil Scott Heron) as well as other artists.
Venues Mr. Cousins has performed at in no particular order: Joe’s Pub, The Nuyorican Poetry Café, S.O.B’s, Bowery Poetry Club, The Five Spot, City Tech College, Solomons Porch, The Shrine in Harlem, Marymount College, The Remote Lounge, Crash Mansion, CBGB’s Gallery, Pace University, October Gallery, The Schomberg Museum, The Chocolate Monkey & Sputnik.
Boo Boo Cousins is available for solo acoustic events, live band showcases, private parties as well as music production and session musician gigs.
