Andrea’s repertoire includes the finest selections in Mellow Blues, Jazz and R&B. Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin and Billie Holiday tunes flow effortlessly into Jimmy Reed, Koko Taylor and B.B. King. Whether it’s “down home blues” or “swinging jazz and R&B” her confident and easygoing delivery puts every audience at ease!

Andrea’s impressive list of past performances includes many Nightclubs, Festivals, Art Galleries, Museums, and Corporate events all across the Dallas and Fort Worth Metroplex.

The Andrea D Blues Band regularly utilizes the talents of International recording artist Lucky Peterson, and well known local Dallasite Hashbrown Callway and Texas Slim Andrea D along with Andrew "Jr Boy" Jones also gigged together extensively, prior to his new smash CD release and road tour.

Andrea comes from a large and gregarious family of music lovers. Her sound was honed from her mothers large collection of Blues, Jazz, Soul and Spiritual lps. The music first seeped through her ears, her consciousness and into her soul. Music and the women and men who sang it, formed not only her sound but her very being. The confidence and attitude of women like Big Mama Thornton, Etta James, the spine tingling vibrato of Mahalia Jackson, the elegance of Sarah Vaughn along with the incomparable soulfulness of Aretha Franklin all contribute to the sauce that is Andrea D!

By today's standards, Andrea Dawson - Singer, Bandleader and Songwriter, started late in her career. Her very first solo performance came on the heels of her 35th birthday! However, within a few years she found herself along with Guitar hero "Texas Slim and the Love Machine" headlining at the 2004 Frog Blues Festival in Elmo TX. For 3 years in a row the Andrea D Blues Band has been invited to perform at the prestigious Southwest Blues Heritage Festival and the annual KNON Radio Blues Festival alongside Dallas Blues dignitaries, Sam Myers, Hash Brown, Joe Jonas, Cookie McGee, Holland K Smith and Lucky Peterson.

These days you can find The Andrea D Blues Band at fine establishments and broken down bars alike. From prestigious Art Galleries, Museums, Private Parties and corporate events to Blues Clubs, Juke Joints and Beer Gardens you get the same unvarnished performance every time. Andrea D is testament that it's never too late to pursue and achieve dreams!
