/_\drian believes that music should be about storytelling and provoking emotion, with hearing artist like Chuck Berry, Sam Cooke, MGMT, Sade, Journey, Tupac, Biggie and some of the current artists like Janelle Monae, Kendrick Lamar, Miguel, Frank Ocean /_\drian still believes the void in which music lacks has a chance to be fulfilled and he is here to help fulfill it. Born and Raised in the streets of Brownville, Brooklyn /_\drian has given credit to his environment for playing a major role in his construction of Stoner Land, “Brooklyn made me so that I can only be honest, it gave me that opportunity to be tough and to simply talk about whatever.” Living in an area where the culture is predominantly hip-hop helped influenced his music tremendously and gave him the ability to write a song off his first Album ‘Memoirs of a Stoner” called ‘True Lovin’ which depicts his surroundings. His bluntness and carefree attitude invites you into the Stoner lifestyle, his attentive yet slouch posture while explaining how music serves as his therapy allows you to witness the tranquility of a stoner. From speaking about the influence the tough streets of Brooklyn had on his music then alluding to the videos of Frank Sinatra he last watched, you become intrigued with this 23 year old 6’1.5 pearly white chocolate brother. Listening to his music, you become wrapped in his high moments, when his sultry voice sings into the microphone and out of the speaker comes a distinct eclectic sound. Here is when you experience the moment of being an actual 'stoner', taken into a world where you are temporarily intoxicated, your ears and your heart become intertwined. Listening to the tracks from his first album ’Memoirs of a Stoner’ you find yourself walking idly drugged up and ‘Gone’ (Track 1) off what could possibly be ‘True Lovin’ (Track 8) the heavy breathing of trying to escape the madness of this deranged ‘American Love’ (Track 5) has left you ‘Out of Gas’ (Track 4) you’re stuck in this haze where you are overwhelmed with feelings of heartbreak yet lust and just when your hormones come to ease the most provocative woman, typical Media Girl (Track 7) walks past and turns into an alleyway, she begins to seduce you with her sex appeal and the only words you can muster up to say is Je Veux Plus (Track 3). You’re enticed by her beauty, you lock eyes then suddenly she turns and walks away vanishing into the allies darkness, you shake your head trying to wrap your mind around what just happened and whisper to yourself ‘Something Told Me’ (Track 2) to stay out of the allies. You’re now ready for your high to come down yet there is a rapid Round of Applause (Track 9) cheering you to stay afloat from hypnotic haze of the 'white clouds' /_\drian wants his music to take his fans to a place where they can get completely lost in, “the reality of emotions that really hits you and breaks you down.”
/_\drian Daniel invites you to Stonerland, a place though painful and raw and at times soulful for those he believes truly appreciate his raw honesty in his music.
