    Bio
Ten years ago, two Aussie brothers packed up their didges, bagpipes and guitars, left country NSW for Los Angeles, hooked up with a drummer from Perth then proceeded to build themselves a cult following in the US as ‘BROTHER’, touring clubs, theatres and massive outdoor festivals - with no record label, no publicist, no stylist, no hairdresser, no agent. Having won rave reviews for its out-there, genre-bending show, ‘BROTHER’ has sold more CDs in North America than any other Aussie 100% indie and has been featured in the US music press as a DIY role model.

In a textbook example of under the radar success, the band regularly takes US festivals and theatres by storm; has played a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Summer series (in a weird triple bill with Linkin Park and Alicia Keys); set up a self-financed label and publishing company, Rhubarb Records; sold out LA’s iconic Troubador club; locked out The Mint (US fire marshals were called to manage unexpected crowds) and has soundtrack credentials which include placements on ER, Twilight Zone and BARAKA; all without anyone in Oz having heard of them.

‘When we left Sydney for LA a decade ago, neither of us thought the future would hold a near-death road crash; sharing beds in the worst motels; surviving a cynical music industry and a run of bad deals – but here we are,” says sibling elder, Hamish. “We’ve made it through without ripping each other’s throats out and have managed to make some pretty tasty noise along the way.”
