Anyone who has Andy's CD know that he is an incredibly gifted songwriter deserving of far more notiriety and recognition than he is currently receiving. I have only been listening to Andy for about a year and a half now, but it's been long enough for me to realize that he has the potential to be labeled as one of the few standout musicians in a sea of singer-songwriters hailing from Nashville.

NASHVILLE HAS A SECRET that she’s been dying to tell someone about. She’s kept it quiet long enough, and it is time to tell the world. Are you ready?

His name is Andy Davis, and he’s about to take over your stereo.

Originally from the Louisiana bayou, this 23-year-old has been residing in Nashville for the past five years. His songs are a refreshing blend of rock and folk. Like turning your pillow over in the middle of the night, Andy’s songs come with the cool satisfaction of what only a rare talent can bring: originality. He stands out from the array of young singer-songwriters in the Nashville area. Trying to compare Andy to others isn’t easy. Some say he's like Damien Rice meets Ben Folds. Others say he is a young Billy Joel with an acoustic guitar. Listen and decide for yourself.

Andy is passionately connected to each one of his songs, not completing one until it has been poured over and tweaked countless times. His lyrics are thoughtful and honest, reminding listeners of life’s most epic moments: the excitement of love, the devastation of heartache, and the search for purpose. His melodies can be soothing, moving, and sometimes just downright fun. One listen and you’ll be singing them to yourself for the rest of the day.

With the release of his latest album Thinks Of Her, Andy showcases his raw talent and songwriting ability. This unplugged album allows listeners to hear these songs just as Andy wrote them. Some were even recorded in his home studio. Highlights include the epic “Bigger Than Us,” the piano-based fan favorite “Brown Eyes,” and the painful ballad, “Black Keys.”

Andy graduated from Belmont University in 2003. He accredits his time at Belmont as one of the major shaping blocks for his songwriting, as he wrote many of his songs in the practice rooms at the school and recorded early demos there as well. It was also at Belmont that he met two of the members of his band, guitarist Evan Weatherford and bassist Jordan Hester. Fellow Louisiana native and drummer Mathew Linton completes the band. Fans across the southeast have enjoyed their exceptional live shows.

This fall will be spent touring in support of Thinks Of Her and recording a new, more fully produced EP, due out early '06.

These are the best times to follow a young artist. Andy Davis is at the beginning of what will surely prove to be a long and successful career. The secret is out and it won’t be long until everyone is spreading the word about Andy Davis.
