2NE1 is a 4-member Korean girl group from YG Entertainment that debuted on May 6, 2009 with a digital single called "Fire." 2NE1 is composed of Bom (main vocals), Dara (vocals), CL (leader, main rapper), and Minzy (rapper). Known as the "Female Big Bang" before debut, 2NE1 has gained popularity unheard of for a rookie group. They have also become a hot issue for being so different (in terms of music style and image) from other girl groups in the kpop genre.

2NE1 (투애니원) stands for "the new evolution of the 21st century." The "NE" stands for "New Evolution" and the "21" represents the 21st century.
