FRESH OFF THEIR SUMMER TOUR WITH THE STAR-STUDDED CRUEFEST 2, THE TAMPA BAY BASED ROCK POWERHOUSE GEARS UP FOR THE RELEASE OF THEIR SELF-TITLED SECOND ALBUM, TO BE DISTRIBUTED WORLDWIDE VIA FONTANA/UNIVERSAL 16 Second Stare’s Success With Their Debut ‘Red Carpet Material’ Has Led To Tours With Brian ‘Head’ Welch, Crue Fest 2, And A Slot At The Upcoming “Love Ride,” The World’s Largest One Day Motorcycling Fundraising Event Still in the midst of a whirlwind breakthrough year, Tampa Bay based rising rockers 16 Second Stare (www.16secondstare.com ) are gearing up for the upcoming release of their new self-titled second album. The band is currently playing a mini fall 2009 U.S. tour along with performing on October 25 at Love Ride 26 (www.loveride.org ) in Glendale, California for the world’s largest single day motorcycle fundraising event. They’ve gotten used to the superstar company they’ve been keeping since releasing their indie debut Red Carpet Material in 2008. This past summer, 16 Second Stare was invited on the 33-city Crue Fest 2 tour, created and headlined by Motley Crue. Main stage headliners included Charm City Devils, Godsmack, Drowning Pool and Theory of a Deadman. 16 Second Stare performed on the Monster Energy stage where the band gained popularity and got bumped up on the stage’s line up until they were performing for 15-20,000 fans per show directly in support of Rev Theory. Earlier this year, the band played its first ever South By Southwest (SXSW) tour and was part of the “16 Second Stare Gets Head Tour ‘09” with Brian “Head” Welch, the former lead guitarist of Korn. “Complicated,” the first single off their sophomore album 16 Second Stare is already receiving airplay on Sirius Satellite’s Octane channel and numerous radio stations throughout North America. The new album, which will be distributed worldwide by Fontana/Universal, reflects the more aggressive vibe of the band’s recently revamped line-up, which includes lead guitarist Dennis Kimak and bassist Kurtis Todd, in addition to co-lead singer/acoustic guitarist Chris “Beano” Davis and “Angry Tim” Shanks, the founders of 16 Second Stare who have played together for the past five years. Beyond their regular slate of gigs, 16 Second Stare does many benefits for local cancer organizations. Proceeds from their new, as yet unreleased grungy version of “Amazing Grace” are earmarked for this as well. Last year the band sent 10,000 copies of Red Carpet Material to the soldiers in Iraq to show support to our troops.
