Description
Open daily 9-5. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Pets are not allowed. Route is mostly level with paved and non-paved roads, sidewalks and marked trail. Pass forts, the National Cemetery, parts of the old Navy Yard and the "walls", an old Navy hospital dating from the Civil War and a lighthouse dating from 1821 that is still is use today. After the lighthouse the walk returns to the Museum which now houses the aircraft flown in WWII by President GW Bush and a model of the soon-to-be-constructed aircraft carrier, USS George H. W. Bush, CVN 77
