Saturday, July 11, 2009 - Friday, July 17, 2009 Saturday July 11, at 3pm, Wednesday, July 15, at 6:30, and again on Friday, July 17, at 11am. Please attend any one program. Join studio quilt artist and former Beacon Journal columnist Connie Bloom, who will explain the transformations quilts have made since great grandma's heydays and unfurl a trunk show of gorgeous quilts she has stitched. Art quilts hang on the wall, not on a bed, and look like paintings but are made of fabric and embellishments, such as buttons, beads and cording. They can be hand stitched or sewn on a sewing machine, which is Connie's preference, and be abstract or representational.
