Brian Bland, professor of psychology, University of Calgary.
The talk will include discussion of the ascending brainstem hippocampal synchronizing and desynchronizing pathways with special emphasis on recent data on the posterior hypothalamus, including the finding that deep brain stimulation (DBS) of the posterior hypothalamus reverses akinesia in two rodent models of Parkinson’s disease.
