"Nunsense" Auditions: Jan. 11th & 12th

NUNSENSE TO INVADE STAGE DOOR INC.

Stage Door Inc. Center for the Performing Arts and Education is preparing to hold auditions for "Nunsense", which is the second show of their 2009 "Live, Laugh and Love" Season, Auditions will be held on Sunday January 11 and Monday January 12 from 7 - 10pm .

All roles are open and include 5 females (ages mid-20s and older). Auditions will be at the theatre and all those auditioning are asked to prepare a 1 minute vocoal selection that best showcases their voice. Auditions will also consist of cold readings from the script and a dance combination will be taught by the choreographer. Head-shots and resumes are greatly appreciated but not required.

"Nunsense" is an outrageously funny talent show staged by the five survivors of the Little Sisters of Hoboken nunnery. The rest of the sisters having succumbed to botulism after eating vichyssoise soup prepared by Sister Julia, Child of God. The remaining sisters are now forced to parade their talents at a variety show staged to raise money so that the last four of the dearly departed can be buried.

Dan Goggin's "Nunsense" is an international smash hit comedy that has won the Outer Critics' Circle awards for best Off Broadway musical and for best book and best music. This hilariously funny musical promises to keep the audience laughing till they cry.

Stage Doors Inc's production of "Nunsense" will be directed by Marc Anthony Glover, with musical direction by A.Z. Varela and choreography by A.J. West. The show runs from February 12 - March 8, 2009 with performances every Friday and Saturday evening and Sunday matinees with select Thursday evenings performances possible.
