Description
Considering a trip to snow-country this winter? This hour and a half presentation by the Kachina Peaks Avalanche Center, Inc. introduces participants to fundamental elements of snow avalanches including: weather, terrain, snowpack and human error. Also covered will be some essential equipment recommendations for winter preparedness on San Francisco Peaks. Information will focus on aspects that are both typical of western mountains and those unique to northern Arizona. A short film Know Before You Go will vividly enhance and drive home points made in the presentation.
