The American Headache Society (AHS) founded in 1959 is the leading professional organization for those interested in the study and management of headache and face pain. The Societys objectives are to promote the exchange of ideas concerning the cause and treatment of headache and related painful disorders. Educating physicians and health professionals, and encouraging scientific research, are the primary functions of this organization. The Scottsdale Headache Symposium continues to be a successful venue for providing practical, clinical, evidence-based information on the diagnosis, management, and treatment of headache patients. Education is presented in didactic, case-based, evidenced-based, panel and demonstrative formats.
