Derek Vincent Smith, better known as Pretty Lights, (born November 25, 1981) is an American electronic music producer and DJ. Smith considers his music as a mix between elements of electronic based music, and beats from hip-hop and soul music. He performed at major electronic music festivals in the US such as Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, or the Electric Zoo at Randall’s Island in New York City. Smith also is a successful entrepreneur. He owns the Pretty Lights Music label, which releases and promotes artist of similar genre. Pretty Lights is coming off of his latest album “Pretty Lights 2011 Remixes” and his new hit single “You Get High”.
